Pay only half your utility bill?

Money's hard to come by these days, so why not pay half your Seattle utility bills instead of the whole thing?

A Seattle Public Utility and Seattle City Light program makes doing so possible for those who qualify. Yet 80 percent of eligible bill-holders aren't participating, the city says.

"Times are tight right now," said Michael May, a spokesman for SPU. "We just want to remind residents that there's assistance they can apply for."

To find out if you're eligible for the reduced rates or for more information, call 206-684-0268 or visit www.seattle.gov/util, click on "Services" at top left, then "Billing" at top left then "Payment Options," then "Payment Assistance" at middle left.

Chương trình này giúp những người lớn tuổi, low-income (thu nhập thấp), vv... giảm tiền nước, rác và cầu cống 50%.
Gọi (206) 684-3000 để lấy đơn...cũng dễ xin lắm.

Còn có 1 chương trình nữa để giảm tiền điện, nhưng hiện tại Nếp không biết link hoặc số phone. Nếp chỉ biết là có thể xin cái đơn này ở văn phòng của PUB.
