Photographer's description: My husband and I hiked this trail to the seven sacred pools 20 years ago, and then we took our kids on the same hike recently. You go through a bamboo forest that is simply amazing and then end up at a 200-foot waterfall. Best hike ever!

Photographer's description: Driving through a small village on the island of Bali, we spotted this duck farmer herding his flock down the street. We had to pull over to let them pass. These ducks are raised for their eggs and obey commands given to them by the farmer who uses a flag to guide them.

Photographer's description: This is a hidden lagoon in a small island in the Philippines. To get to it, you wait for low tide to reveal a small opening in the rocky mountain walls, and transfer from a boat to a bamboo raft that can slip through the opening.

Photographer's description: Phan Thiet is a small fishing village on the coast of South Vietnam. I was taking an early-morning walk to visit the market. Fishing boats were anchored out in the bay while the fishermen were unloading their catch on the beach. I raised the camera above me, and blindly started shooting photos to capture the sea of conical hats.
